Requirements for the All-County 2021 Ensembles and the NYSSMA Solo Festivals 2020

Elementary Band (Grade 4, 5 and 6 in the Fall of 2020)

There will be a separate audition for the Elementary All-County Band in the Fall of 2020.The date and location will be determined. A new list for the audition will be published in the Spring WCSMA Newsletter. We will be using pieces from the NYSSMA Manual Edition 32. Each instrument will be assigned a Level in the NYSSMA Manual. Teachers will select the audition piece for their students. Students may choose to go to NYSSMA in the Spring of 2020 to get a rating. It has no effect on Elementary All-County Band.

Elementary Orchestra (Grade 4 and 5 in the Fall of 2020)

There will be a separate audition for the Elementary All-County Orchestra in the Fall of 2020. The date and location will be determined. Junior All -County Orchestra 2021 (Grade 6 and 7 in the Fall of 2020)

Students currently enrolled in Grades 5 and 6, who wish to be considered for the 2021 All-County Junior Orchestra should perform a solo from the current NYSSMA Manual 32, on Level 3 or 4 at the NYSSMA Solo Festival Spring 2020. The NYSSMA audition is now the audition for the Junior Orchestra. There will not be a separate audition for the Junior Orchestra in the Fall of 2020.  Students can choose to audition on a Level 5 or 6 NYSSMA piece. Level 5 and 6 solos will receive the same consideration as a Level 4. Letters of acceptance to the Junior All-County Orchestra will be sent out in the Fall of 2020.

Intermediate All-County Band 2021 (Grade 7, 8 and 9 in the Fall of 2020)

Students currently enrolled in Grade 6, 7 and 8, who wish to be considered for Intermediate All-County Band in the Spring of 2021, should perform a solo from the current NYSSMA Manual 32, on Level 4 or 5 at the NYSSMA Solo Festival Spring 2020. Students can choose to audition on a Level 6 Solo. Level 6 Solos will receive the same consideration as a Level 5. Letters of acceptance will be sent out in the Fall of 2020.

 Intermediate All-County Orchestra 2021 (Grade 8 and 9 in the Fall of 2020)

Students currently enrolled in Grade 7 and 8, who wish to be considered for Intermediate All-County Orchestra in the Spring of 2021, should perform a solo from the current NYSSMA Manual 32, on Level 4 or 5 at the NYSSMA Solo Festival Spring 2020. Students can choose to audition on a Level 6 Solo.  Level 6 Solos will receive the same consideration as a Level 5. Letters of acceptance for the Intermediate Orchestra will be sent out in the Fall of 2020.
