Dear Westchester Music Educator,
This letter will cover procedures on how to register your eligible students for the 2019 Area All-State festival.
Once again, White Plains High School and SUNY Purchase will be our rehearsal/performance venues.
Registrations for this festival must be done online at Solochair.com. You may register all your students at once,
or a few at a time. The beginning of school is a very busy time and these deadlines are strict and will arrive very quickly.
*Online registration completed by Solochair must be submitted no later than Sunday, Sept. 22nd.
*Printed forms (from Solochair registration) must be signed and postmarked by Monday, Sept 23rd.
When registering your students you may choose to use the EXPRESS or STANDARD registration.
In order to use EXPRESS registration, you must know:
1) The site where the student auditioned
2) The student’s SoloChair registration number from that festival (may be accessed on SoloChair from last year’s festival invoice)
If you do not have the above information, you may use the STANDARD registration method.
If you have some students that qualify for EXPRESS and some that do not:
– Complete Express first for those who qualify
– Then return to the MyAccount page and complete the other students using the Standard Method
Make sure to finalize each batch.
When you have finished registering all your students, print the confirmation page and the applications and send with the appropriate signatures.
All forms must be signed and mailed in addition to the online application. (Note that your principal and music administrator only
have to sign the ‘Application Signatures,’ not each individual application)
We DO NOT require you to mail the spring solo sheet.
WED. OCT. 23 PRE-REHEARSAL/SECTIONALS WHITE PLAINS HS (4-9 PM)
WED. NOV. 6 REHEARSAL WHITE PLAINS HS (4-9 PM)
THURS. NOV. 7 REHEARSAL SUNY PURCHASE (9 AM-3 PM)
THURS. NOV. 7 CONCERT SUNY PURCHASE (8 PM)
Students who do not attend any part of rehearsal due to illness, absence from school, or other commitments, will not be allowed
to perform in the concert. There is no exception to this. As a reminder, this is an honors group that requires a great deal of effort
on behalf of students, teachers, coordinators, conductors, and many others. When a student is registered, accepted, and then drops out,
either before the festival or by not attending all rehearsals, it takes away a spot in the group for another student
who could have been accepted. Please keep this in mind when registering your students.
Questions and correspondence about this festival may be emailed to me at jstroffolino@
I look forward to assisting you and your students in this process.
