Area All-State Teacher Info

Dear Westchester Music Educator,

White Plains High School (10/26 and 11/9) & SUNY Purchase (11/10) will host Westchester County Area All-State 2016

The registration deadlines for this festival are as follows:

Online registration completed by Solochair online registration must be submitted by Sept 25.

Printed forms (from solochair registration) must be signed and postmarked by Sept 27.

Registrations for this festival must be done online at SoloChair.com. You may register all your students at once, or a few at a time.

The Area All-State form now offers express registration for those students who performed at a NYSSMA Spring Solo Festival.

In order to use Express Registration, you must know

1) The site that the student auditioned at and

2) The student’s SoloChair registration number from that festival

If you do not have the above information, you may use the ‘Standard’ registration method

If you have some students that qualify for Express and some that don’t:

- Complete Express first for those who qualify

-Then return to the MyAccount page and complete the other students using the Standard Method

Make sure to Finalize each batch.

When you have finished registering all your students, print the confirmation page and the applications and send with the appropriate signatures. All forms must by signed and mailed in addition to the online application. (Note that your principal and music administrator only have to sign the ‘Application Signatures,’ not each individual application)

We Do NOT require you to mail the spring solo sheet

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

WED. OCT. 26 PRE-REHEARSAL/SECTIONALS WHITE PLAINS HS (4-9 PM)

WED. NOV. 9 REHEARSAL WHITE PLAINS HS (4-9 PM)

THURS. NOV. 10 REHEARSAL SUNY PURCHASE (9 AM-3 PM)

THURS. NOV. 10 CONCERT SUNY PURCHASE (8 PM)

Students who do not attend any part of rehearsal due to illness, absence from school, or other commitments, will not be allowed to perform in the concert. The integrity of the rehearsal process is of utmost importance. Our guest conductors deserve to rehearse the group in front of them that they expect to see at the concert. There is not time for them to backtrack and fill missing students in on what has been accomplished during the rehearsal process. No student will perform in the concert if he/she has not attended all rehearsals for the entire length of the rehearsal.

Questions and correspondence about this festival may be emailed to me at benjamin.acrish@henhudschools.org. Do not email the webmaster about festival-specific questions.

I look forward to assisting you and your students in this process.

Sincerely,

Benjamin Acrish

Westchester Area All-State Coordinator
